Report: Buccaneers retain Chris Godwin on three-year deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are keeping one of the top free agents off the open market, agreeing to a three-year deal with receiver Chris Godwin, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport.

Over the three-year deal, Godwin will make $66 million with $45 million guaranteed at signing, Rapoport adds.

Godwin had his season cut short by a dislocated ankle that he suffered in Week 7.

The 29-year-old had 50 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns before getting hurt. Prior to that, Godwin had three-straight seasons with over 1,000 yards receiving.
