Ducks sign second overall pick Carlsson to three-year, entry-level deal

The Anaheim Ducks have signed second overall selection Leo Carlsson to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Carlsson spent the 2022-23 season playing in the SHL with Orebro, recording 10 goals and 25 points in 44 games. He also recorded six points in seven games at the World Junior Championship and five points in eight games at the World Championships while representing Sweden.

The hulking 6-foot-3 power forward compiled one of the most productive draft-year seasons in Swedish hockey history this past season, trailing only the Sedin twins, as well as Elias Lindholm and Nicklas Backstrom in DY SHL production.
