Penguins add former Senators assistant GM Trent Mann to staff

Kyle Dubas continues to remake the Pittsburgh Penguins‘ front office, hiring former Ottawa Senators assistant GM Trent Mann as player development and scouting advisor, the club announced on Saturday.

Mann was let go by the Senators in July, six months after his brother, Troy, was sacked by the club as head coach of their American Hockey League farm team.

Troy Mann’s dismissal was a shock, as he had led the Belleville Senators to a 150-117-15-7 record in 289 games behind the bench.

Dubas, the former Toronto Maple Leafs GM, was hired by the Penguins on June 1 as president of hockey operations, before also being handed the title of general manager.
