Vancouver Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev will make his season debut against the Florida Panthers on Saturday, head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed to reporters.
Mikheyev had surgery to repair a torn ACL in February and has not dressed for the Canucks since.
The 28-year-old forward had 28 points in 43 games for the Canucks last season before the ACL injury in January ended his year early.
Mikheyev joined Vancouver from the Maple Leafs in free agency, agreeing to a four-year, $19-million contract in the summer of 2022.
He will play on a line with Elias Pettersson and Andrei Kuzmenko to open his 2023-24 campaign.
You can watch Mikheyev make his season debut against the Panthers live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
