Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness has taken a leave of absence from the team after his wife suffered a seizure and remains in hospital, the club announced Monday.
Assistant coach Scott Arniel will take over head coaching duties on an interim basis until Bowness returns.
Bowness, 68, was hired by the Jets in 2022, replacing interim head coach Dave Lowry. Across his two seasons with the club, he’s led them to a 48-36-3 record.
