Tennis Canada announced Thursday that Montreal will host a Davis Cup qualifier tie against the Republic of Korea on Feb. 2-3, 2024.
Held at IGA Stadium, it will mark the first time in five years that Canada has hosted this event and the first time in nine years it’s been in Montreal.
Canada currently sits No. 2 in Davis Cup rankings, while the Republic of Korea is No. 18. The teams are set to announce their rosters for the event in January.
“We are thrilled to be coming back to Canada and to get the chance to play in front of a home crowd,” said team captain Frank Dancevic. “We know the tie against the Republic of Korea will not be easy, and we will need all the help we can get from the Canadian crowd to push us through to the Group Stage.”
Canada was Davis Cup champions in 2022 but fell to Finland this year in the quarterfinals.
