Maple Leafs players Auston Matthews and T.J. Brodie were both spotted at practice on Monday, two days after missing Toronto’s game against the Penguins.
A virus has been working its way through the team since last week, with winger Matthew Knies missing a pair of games, and others playing through their illness.
The Maple Leafs managed just fine without the pair on Saturday, routing Pittsburgh 7-0. Knies was particularly strong in his first game back, picking up a Gordie Howe hat-trick (goal, assist, and a fight).
Matthews is currently tied with the Canucks’ Brock Boeser for the lead league in goals with 23.
The Maple Leafs’ next game is Tuesday, when they host the Metropolitan Division-leading New York Rangers.
