Report: Ex-Canuck Cody Hodgson signs PTO with Milwaukee Admirals

Cody Hodgson has signed a professional tryout agreement with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals in an attempt to return to pro hockey for the first time since 2015-16, according to Michael Gallagher of nashvillehockeynow.com.

Drafted 10th overall in 2008 by the Vancouver Canucks, Hodgson, 33, retired on Oct. 3, 2016, subsequently revealing he had been diagnosed with malignant hyperthermia, an adverse reaction to medications that can result in fever, rapid heart rate and muscle rigidity and/or breakdown.

In 328 games with the Canucks, Nashville Predators and Buffalo Sabres, the Toronto native had 64 goals and 78 assists for 142 points.

The Admirals are the AHL affiliate of the Predators.
