Jets’ Vilardi has enlarged spleen, no timetable for return

Winnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi has been diagnosed with an enlarged spleen, head coach Rick Bowness told reporters Friday.

There is no timetable for his return.

Vilardi has been out since Feb. 29 when he suffered an undisclosed upper-body injury against the Dallas Stars.

In 38 games with the Jets this season, the 24-year-old forward has 16 goals and 14 assists.

The Jets acquired Vilardi this off-season as part of the return for Pierre-Luc Dubois.

Winnipeg is third in the Central Division with a 41-19-5 record.
