The Hobey Baker Memorial Award Committee announced the three finalists for the 2024 Hobey Baker Award on Thursday.
Boston University’s Macklin Celebrini, University of North Dakota’s Jackson Blake and Boston College’s Cutter Gauthier are the finalists.
The winner of the award, which is given annually to the top NCAA men’s ice hockey player, will be officially announced on April 12.
Celebrini, who is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft, led Boston University to the Frozen Four with 32 goals and 32 assists in 37 games. The 17-year-old from Vancouver was named Hockey East Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year.
Gauthier, a fifth-overall selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2022 NHL Draft, is a leader on the No. 1-ranked Boston College Eagles, who also are headed to the Frozen Four. In 39 games, Gauthier recorded 37 goals and 27 assists.
Blake, the only one of the three who will not be playing in the Frozen Four, recorded 22 goals and 38 assists in 40 games in his sophomore season with North Dakota. The 20-year-old winger was a fourth-round selection of the Carolina Hurrincaes in the 2021 NHL Draft.
The Frozen Four runs from April 11-13 in Saint Paul, Minn.
