Luis De Los Santos will make his first MLB start on Sunday when the Blue Jays face the Yankees in New York.
The multi-purpose infielder will get the start at third base and bat ninth as the Blue Jays look for the series win against the AL East-contending Yankees.
De Los Santos, 26, has a .243/.393/.400 slash line in 28 games with triple-A Buffalo this season. The Dominican player made his debut with the Jays on July 31, coming on to bat in the eighth inning of a 10-4 loss to the Orioles in Baltimore.
The Blue Jays continue to forge ahead with their youth movement, with recently acquired Joey Loperfido getting another start in left field, Spencer Horwitz at first, and Addison Barger in right field.
Hot-hitting Vladimir Guerrero Jr., riding a 16-game hit streak, will hit from the DH spot.
That game can be seen at 1:35 p.m. ET / 10:35 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
