Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson was fined for a penalty he took in Monday’s win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The $5,000 fine was handed down for interference. Ekman-Larsson took the penalty early in the third period when he threw a hit on Tampa Bay’s Jake Guentzel.
The money will go into the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Ekman-Larsson has four assists in six games this season, his first with the Maple Leafs.
