Red Wings’ Jonatan Berggren fined for cross-checking Maple Leafs’ Connor Dewar

Detroit Red Wings forward Jonatan Berggren was fined $2,148.44 on Sunday for delivering a cross-check to Connor Dewar of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The fine is the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement.

The incident occurred 10:53 into the second period of the Red Wings’ 4-2 victory over the Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

Berggren received a two-minute penalty at the time.

The Red Wings (12-14-4) return to action Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
