With the Toronto Blue Jays leading the American League, this year’s post-season schedule could be of increased relevance to Canadian baseball fans.
MLB announced its playoff slate on Tuesday, with wild-card matchups beginning Sept. 30 and the World Series set to start Oct. 24.
All four division series will start Oct. 4. Game 1 of the ALCS goes Oct. 12, one day before the start of the NLCS.
If Game 7 of the World Series is necessary, it will take place Nov. 1.

The American League-leading Toronto Blue Jays return home for a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs. Game 2 is Wednesday, starting at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, with live coverage on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
The Blue Jays last made the playoffs in 2023, when they were swept out of the wild-card round by the Minnesota Twins. They also suffered wild-card sweeps in 2020 against the Tampa Bay Rays and 2022 against the Seattle Mariners.
Toronto’s last post-season win came in 2016, when it fell to the Cleveland Guardians in five games in the ALCS.
However, at 69-50, the Blue Jays currently lead the AL East by 4.5 games and appear to have their best shot at making a deep post-season run since that season.
