Rams’ WR Kupp placed on IR with hamstring injury, will miss four games

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the team’s first four games, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The star receiver had already been ruled out for their Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Now on the IR, he’s set to miss at least the next four games.

He first suffered the injury on Aug. 1 at Rams training camp and apparently suffered a setback sometime last week.

Head coach Sean McVay said that placing Kupp on the IR was a possibility earlier this week.

“You wish he was able to go, but I’ve got a lot of confidence in the guys,” McVay said. “This is something that we probably thought was going to be the situation for a while now, so this isn’t anything new to us.”

After being named the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year in the 2021 season, Kupp’s 2022 season was shortened by an ankle injury. He finished with 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns.
