PWHL Vancouver won’t be stopped when it comes to adding top forward talent.
Top Charge goal scorer Tereza Vanisova is leaving Ottawa to sign with the expansion team, according to Ian Kennedy of the Hockey News.
Vanisova was in high demand as many teams lost forwards during the expansion process, but none of the original six teams found a way to keep her away from the west coast.
As the Charge’s top goal scorer in the 2024-25 season, Vanisova dominated with 22 points in 30 games, making her a huge target in free agency. But the 29-year-old brought more than just 15 goals. Physical intensity is a huge part of her game as she led the league in penalty minutes with 38.
This marks the second consecutive season where the Charge have lost their top goal scorer during the off-season. Last year, Daryl Watts scored 10 goals for Ottawa before she was lost in free agency to the Sceptres. This year, Toronto chose to protect Watts in the expansion draft.
Vanisova joins two of her Charge teammates, goalie Emerance Maschmeyer and defender Ashton Bell, who have already landed in Vancouver.
