After being a healthy scratch for Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres, Jordan Kyrou will return to the lineup as the St. Louis Blues take on the Seattle Kraken on Saturday.
The Blues rebounded from a rough loss on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals with a 3-0 win over the Sabres.
Kyrou, 27, has four goals and four assists in 14 games this season.
In his last four games, he has no points, and over his past three, his ice time has declined, reaching a low of 14:04 against the Oilers on Monday.
“Everybody has a role and responsibility on our team. When you don’t live up to your standard, you risk the chance of coming out of the lineup,” Blues head coach Jim Montgomery said Saturday morning of scratching Kyrou.
“It could have been a lot of guys, it’s just the way I ended up making my decision. This morning (Kyrou) showed up, he’s in a good frame of mind, and I’m giving him the opportunity to respond.
“I expect him to be good tonight.”
Kyrou will likely slot onto the top line against the Kraken with Brayden Schenn and Robert Thomas based on Saturday morning’s skate.
Oskar Sundqvist and Logan Mailloux, who were also scratched on Thursday, are expected to remain out of the lineup Saturday.
